About
blog.nechbi.com is the personal website of Neil Bird, a gadget and mobile enthusiast.
History
I started nechbi.com as a hobby back in 2004 to have a play with this new phenomenon called ‘blogging’. With no clear theme, the site started off as ‘my personal ramblings’, posts about random things that interested me that I wanted to share. It soon became apparent that my love of all things gadgetty, were becoming more prominent on the site, and so it evolved into a small tech fan site. As years ticked by and traffic started to grow to my humble site, I decided that the identity nechbi.com really wasn’t appropriate for a gadget site, so in June 2007, I decided on a bit of an update.
Re-branding
In June 2007 iGadgetLife.com was born, a re-branded gadget site that focused on ‘Wireless Internet Connected Devices’. I had a huge interest in this growing area of wireless devices that enabled people to communicate with each other with no wires over the internet.
The site went from strength to strength, and thought it gave me joy in reaching over a million views on an iGadgetLife video on YouTube.
The Sale of iGadgetLife.com
In June 2009, I decided to sell iGadgetLife to new owners. It was a tough decision, but I think that my time with the site had run it’s course, and it would make sense to hand it over to somebody with some new ideas for it.
The Future
iGadgetLife may have gone, but you can still find me on various sites across the internet:
