I agree totally - I prefer Royal Mail any day, if you're not in you go to your local Post Office depot to collect it and it's never too far away. I just ordered something, a small item, which I didn't realise was courier delivered until too late. Naturally I wasn't in, and just phoned them to see if they could deliver after 1pm the next day, or alternatively deliver to my workplace the day after. No, they could do neither and I have to go and collect it from their depot which is out on some industrial estate near Heathrow! I live in Central London and don't have a car.

I wish websites made it clear if they were using couriers or Royal Mail.

This does not surprise me at all. I have kept sheep for many decades and find them resourceful and intelligent creatures. They are inquisitive, playful and very affectionate They are also very trainable and willing to please when they have learned to trust someone(see a young ewe learning agility If any of my flock of around 40 is in trouble, one of the 'leader' sheep will invariably come to the house and call to me. I can call most of my 30 sheep from the flock by name, or they will seek me out simply for a pat and some affection. Usually when I am doing something outdoors I have one or two sheep 'helping', rubbing on or pawing at my legs or chewing my hat or hair. Some of the sheep come to the back door and tap it with their foot to get my out to give them a backrub or a treat. They make eye contact and answer when I speak to them. Sheep also have a sense of fun and often play, even the adults. I think sheep are very undervalued and deserve much better treatment than they often get from farmers.

This is certainly a frustration we have all felt before!

Our site - shiply.com allows you to read feedback of courier companies before you choose who to go with. However, it is just within Europe at the moment and more geared up for those larger deliveries.

I hope you find it of use.
