Packed and ready for WMC
Well I have just finished packing my bags ready for my flight to Barcelona tomorrow for the Mobile World Congress. Here are some of the goodies that I’ll be bringing with me.
Hopefully, I haven’t forgotten anything!

Since the launch of the N95 8GB, it would seem that people are still trying to figure out if it is worth getting over it’s elder brother (the original silver N95) as I was pleased to see today that my recent N95 / N95 8GB Video Comparison has just hit over 1/4 million views on YouTube and is the 9th most popular video of all time in the Science & Technology section!
I love how mobile technology has developed so quickly in the last few years, with my N95 being a great example of that! People have just been amazed at the quality of the images that are produced using the 5 mega-pixel camera and that’s even from some serious SLR friends of mine.
Because of this I thought that it would be fun to have a step back in time to compare all of my previous handsets and picture qualities. Coincidently I got my first cameraphone just as I was getting Harvey as a puppy back in 2003, so I thought it would be fun to see how he and the cameraphones have changed over the years!
Look out for the yellow one!
Update: Sorry for the random video – I enabled cross-posting from blip.tv (when not uploading direct from their website) and forgot all about it. I was trying out UpperBlip the Mac client to upload direct from your desktop.
The video is of some ducks at work – a mother with her 10 ducklings (with one solitary yellow one). Quack Quack!

With the long Easter Bank holiday weekend, I was out an about with my new Nokia N95 – and decided that it was time that I put the video capabilities of this powerful handset to the test.
Sunday was a day trip to Weymouth, Dorset here in the UK and with my N95 in my pocket I tried to capture some of the sights and sounds of this glorious sunny day at the beach.
The video below was captured all on a Nokia N95 – all I did was stitch it together with some photographs (also taken on the N95) and added some music all using iMovie.
Alternatively there is a version on YouTube.Video includes:
I am no certainly no expert at videoing or using iMove – The results are far from perfect, and could have been edited down a little bit more. The idea was just to demonstrate how easy it is to get pretty decent content together quickly and without much effort!
Let me know what you think..
I hadn’t really paid much attention until I was reading an article on Darla’s blog the other day that there is in fact another colour N95 being sold – Silver/Grey. It wasn’t until I actually looked at my new N95 to see that it was in fact said color:

As I previously mentioned when Darla got her Pink N95, the official Nokia N95 site lists Plum & Sand as being the only available colours:

I have to say that I was so excited to actually have a N95 in my hands, that I didn’t even notice the colour! To be honest I was a little concerned about the colour choices available (as they are not really me). Being a man of many gadgets the Silver/Grey is just up my street and looks very sexy too!
Update: Just had a look at my N95′s Box and it is marked as CPW Warm Graphite -Â I guess it’s a special edition for the Carphonewarehouse.
I have now had my N95 for a couple of days, and have been out and about after work taking some snaps. I have to say that I have been very impressed with the quaility of the pictures. Macro Mode is just stunning as you can see from the flower pictures at the bottom.
